Ida F. Hurt's Obituary
Ida F. Hurt of Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at 104 years old.Ida was born on July 9, 1914 in Providence, Rhode Island, and is the beautiful daughter of Lucy Cardillo and Carmen Cerullo. She married Clyde Hurt on Valentines Day, 1942, when he was on leave from the service.Ida loved God and her family with all her heart. She was happiest while cooking a wonderful Italian dinner surrounded by those she loved.Ida had a passion for playing cards and bingo. She shared her love of music with her family and, until recently, still wrote lyrics to songs. Ida always had a story to go along with her music. Her family and friends describe her as loving, kind, compassionate, and always welcoming to everyone.Ida is survived by her son Charles Edward Hurt, his wife Wanda Hurt, daughter-in-law Linda Hurt, and Grandchildren Nicole Hickey, husband Tim Hickey, Joseph, John and Michael Hurt. Great-grandchildren Amanda, Caleb, and Jaxton, with her extended family of Grandchildren George and Kenneth, and Great-grandchildren Cloey, Zoey and Emalee.Visitation for Ida will be conducted from 9:00 –11:00 am on Friday, May 3, 2019 inside the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home 1589 Colonial Blvd, Ft Myers, Florida 33907.Immediately following the Visitation a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM inside the Chapel at Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord, 8121 Cypress Lake Dr, Fort Myers, FL 33919.
