Irma E. Vogt's Obituary
Mrs. Irma E. (McCormick) Vogt, age 87, passed away peacefully in Fort Myers, FL on December 1, 2016 with Hospice in the comfort of the home of her daughter, JoAnne Marsh. She was survived by her beloved husband, Edward, who passed away on January 10, 2017. She was also preceded in death by her much loved daughter, Irma Vogt, Jr., her parents, William and Irma (Doran) McCormick, brothers William (Jean), James (Mary), Robert and Joseph (Jerre).Irma was born on July 30, 1929 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was a 1947 graduate of Marywood Academy. She attended Davenport Business College prior to marrying the love of her life, Edward on November 4, 1950 at the Cathedral of St. Andrew in Grand Rapids. They were blessed with six children, 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Ed and Irma spent many wonderful summers at their condo in Spring Lake, Michigan and winters in Florida. Since 2011, Fort Myers, FL had been their permanent home.Left to mourn the loss of their wonderful mother and grandmother, are daughters Barbara (William) Dirkmaat, JoAnne (Paul) Marsh; sons Edward Jr.(Neera Agrwal) Vogt, Frederick (Brenda) Vogt and Steven (Leslie) Vogt; son-in-law Tony Henslee (Irma), brother Thomas (Gail Collins) McCormick, loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and special nieces and nephews.Mass of Christian burial took place on Friday, December 9, 2016, with a visitation at Memorial Gardens of Fort Myers prior to the funeral Mass.At this time the family would like to thank daughter, JoAnne, son-in-law, Paul, granddaughter, Shannon and great grandchildren, Michael and Isabella for the wonderful care given to both Ed and Irma. Also, daughter, Barbara for her countless trips to Florida to visit and help with their care.
