James W. Arnold's Obituary
South Fort Myers native James Wilson Arnold passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, July 1, 2020.
Born on December 15, 1934, Arnold was the son of homesteaders John Wilson Arnold and Margaret Logie Arnold. He was raised and lived his whole life in Iona. He served in the U.S. Army for two years, stationed in Alaska. When he returned from service, he met the love of his life Katherine Ann Arnold and married her in 1960.
He worked construction his whole life in Fort Myers Beach and throughout Southwest Florida, ultimately owning his own business, James Arnold Footer, that he ran with his son. He was an avid bowler and participated in many league teams over the years, mainly at Beach Bowl.
He is survived by daughter Tina Winland; son Chris Arnold; grandson A.J. Winland; granddaughter Caitlyn Arnold as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, brother John L. Arnold; sisters Margaret Kendera; Jean Cauthen and Elizabeth Watson.
Funeral services and interment will be on Friday, July 17, at 10 a.m. at the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Hope Hospice. https://www.hopehospice.org/
