James Roger Ball, 78, a resident of North Ft. Myers, FL since the early 1960’s formerly of Mississippi passed away, Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at his residence. He was born September 15, 1939 in Aberdeen, Mississippi to Herbert Leigh Ball and Lucille Hazel Smith, now deceased.James was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Ball in February of 2011.“Roger” as everyone knew him by, was a plumber by trade in Lee county for over 35 years. He spent the later years of his life with his wife raising two of his grandchildren, Megan and Joshua, who were his pride and joy. He had a tremendous heart, infectious personality and was loved by everyone he met. He made an impact on and touched the lives of so many and will be greatly missed.He is survived by his four children: Thomas Roger Ball (Debbie McCaffrey) of Tallahassee, FL, James David Ball (Amy Hatfield) of Riverview, FL, Kathryn Doyle of Cape Coral, FL and James Roger Ball, Jr. of Tazewell, TN; One brother, Johnny Gregory (Doris Gregory) of Baldwyn, MS; Six grandchildren, Megan Johnson and her husband Evan, Joshua Moran, Ashley Roark and her husband Derrick, James Cody Ball, Chloe Hatfield and Kinzie Hatfield, as well as one great grandson Caleb Johnson.A celebration of his life will be held at his residence in North Fort Myers after its remodel with the date and time to be determined.Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907, 239-936-0555.
