James Cobey's Obituary
James Cobey, 85 passed away on April 30th, 2023 in Fort Myers, FL. He was born in Milton New York on September 9th, 1937. James, or Jim as he preferred, was a loving husband to Patricia Cobey for 41 years and a devoted father to James, Brett, Kenneth, Tracy and John Hubba Cobey.
Jim was a man of many interests and hobbies. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener. He loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed telling stories about his experiences. Jim was always the life of the party and loved being around family and friends.
After graduating from Cornwall High School, Jim served in the United States Air Force for 4 years.
Following his military service, Jim had a long and successful career as a United States Federal Police Officer in the department of Treasury. He took great pride in serving his country and upholding the law.
Jim was preceded in death by his children’s mother Margherita Cobey, father William Cobey, mother Estelle Secor Cobey, brother William Cobey, brother Bruce Cobey, and brother Gary Cobey. He is survived by his wife Patricia Cobey, children James Cobey, Brett Cobey, Kenneth Cobey, Tracey Cobey Dowd, and John Hubba Cobey. He was also the proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren Garrett, Cameron, Jake, Morgann, Tricia, Emma, Mackenzie, Abby, Collin, Dominick and Andrea. Brother-in-Laws, Sister-in-laws and several nieces and nephews.
Jim will be deeply missed by all who new him.
In lieu of flowers, Jim loved to help St. Jude Hospital.
