James Murry Cross Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. James Murry Cross Sr., age 85, of Timber Ridge Road, Blairsville, Georgia and formerly of Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at his home following an extended illness. James was born on June 21, 1934 in Fort Myers, Florida. Son of the late Jesse and Melba Cross, James loved to fish, do wood working and watch NASCAR. He was also known to frequent a casino. He loved and was proud of all his children, grandchildren and their families. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joanne, a son Joey Cross, a daughter Jennie Green and two granddaughters, Heather Cross and Niki Cartright and a sister Betty Keene. James was a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-laws, James Jr. and Susie Cross of North Fort Myers, Florida and Bob and Sharon Cross of Fayetteville, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law Linda and James Cartright of Blairsville, Georgia; eight grandsons, Ray Dennison (Mel), Jason Cross, Jarrett Dennison (Judy), Jason Green (Alex) , Clint Green (Natalie), Chad Cross (Devaki), Corey Cross (Meredith), Jimmy Cartright (Toni); nine great-grandsons; five great-granddaughters; one great-great-granddaughter; sister Shirley Williams (E.J.); brother-in-law B. L. Lowell and sister-in-law Elaine Uhl. James also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members; two special friends, Dee Pinette and Karen Cavanaugh and many others who were proud to know James and call him a friend. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
