When he, pa, sent us a big box of baseball equipment- balls, complete catchers outfit, gloves, bats.
We have the 1st catchers mitt, mask, chest protector, and chin guards in the neighborhood. Soon afterwards another boy, Hugh, got his parents to get him a similar set of catcher's equipment.
I was about 9 or 10. So, it was around 52 or 53.
