James (Jim) Ray Francis February 1, 1937 – October 4, 2019James (Jim) Ray Francis, 82, went home to heaven on Friday, October 4, 2019. His wife, Sharon Lee (Bristol) Francis, who he adored, awaited him there. Other loved ones, that survive him, are: his daughters Tamara L. Sykes, Traci L. VanDecandelaere, & Teresa L. Cox; his sons-in-law David Sykes, Gerard VanDecandelaere & Matthew Cox; his grandchildren Michael & Marisa Cox & Aaron & Asya Sykes; & his siblings Madge Marker, & Stuart & Ed Francis. Mr. Francis was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church and had been an elder, communion assistant, and president of the congregation. He was an avid golfer and had scored a hole in one. He was retired from General Motors where he was a machine repairman and later a team leader. In his younger years he enjoyed playing basketball & bowling. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. A Christian Victory Service was held at 3pm at Bethany Lutheran Church on Thursday October 10, 2019. He was interned at the Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907 the same day.
