James "Harvey" Hudnall's Obituary
James “Harvey” Hudnall, 94, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026. Born in St. Augustine, Florida, Harvey lived a long and meaningful life filled with dedication to his family, service to his country, and commitment to his community.
Harvey was married to the love of his life, Lanelle Hudnall, with whom he shared many wonderful years. He is survived by his three children: Ron (Nancy) Hudnall, Kirk (Crystal) Hudnall, and Renea (Angelo) Bolton. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren—Patrick, Wes (Renee), Matt, Kendel, and Kameron—along with three cherished great‑grandchildren.
Harvey proudly served in the United States Air Force, a chapter of his life that instilled in him a deep sense of honor and duty. After relocating to Fort Myers Beach, he and his business partner founded S & H Seafood, a venture that led him to travel frequently between Fort Myers Beach and Freeport, Texas for many years. Following the sale of the business, Harvey embarked on a new path—one that reflected his commitment to helping others. He trained to become a Deputy with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, where he served faithfully from 1982 until his retirement in 2009.
In his later years, Harvey enjoyed life’s simple pleasures: playing cards with friends, watching Wheel of Fortune, and ending each day with his nightly ice cream. These small routines brought him great comfort and joy.
Harvey will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his warm presence, and the love he held for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
