Dr James Henry Letourneau's Obituary
Fort Myers lost a great man on July 12th. Dr. James Henry Letourneau passed away from heart failure. He fought cancer valiantly but in the end had too many complications to survive the battle. Dr Jim was born on 08/08/41 in Lawrence, Massachusetts and later moved to Salem, New Hampshire. He graduated from Central Catholic High School and went on to Davenport, IA where he attended and graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic. Jim also joined the Marine Reserves while in college. His first son was born in 1965 while Jim was finishing up college. Jim and Helen had a gypsy heart, moving from IA, to Mass., to Florida (with several back and forth stops)! He began his love/hate relationship with Florida in the mid 70’s. Not only was he a chiropractor and a Marine, but later in life a famed window washer and painter. Jim was married for 61 years to his beautiful wife, Helen. He was a loving and faithful husband, a steady and caring father, and an amazing grandfather. He is survived by his wife (Helen), his sister (Carol Tuttle); sons Michael (Stephanie), Darren and Todd Letourneau; grandchildren Whitney Hendry Kelly (Nate), Garrett Letourneau, Lyda, Gracie, Mary, Carson Letourneau; and several nieces and nephews.
Jim’s casual Celebration of Life will be held on August 8th for immediate family.
