James K. Sanger Sr.'s Obituary
James K. Sanger Sr. of Gateway, Florida passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Thursday, October 25, 2018 while under the care of Hope Hospice. He was 74 years old.Jim was born on June 19, 1944 in York, Pennsylvania, the proud son of Hazel (Kemper) and Robert Sanger. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and spent his working years as an over-the-road Truck Driver first employed by Preston Trucking and later by Associated Wholesalers from where he retired. Jim was a big racing fan and especially enjoyed watching the NASCAR Winston Cup and later the Sprint Cup Series. He was a hard-working man who greatly loved his family and was respected by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.Left to cherish his loving memory is his devoted wife of 54 years Margaret “Peggy” Sanger; children James K. Sanger Jr. (Lori), Denise A. Gohn and Michelle Patton (Bob); grandchildren Shane Emenheiser, Brandy Emenheiser, Trisha Gohn, Jake Gohn, Brendon Sanger and Logan Sanger and Great Grandchild Makai Gohn. He also leaves behind his siblings Sue Furst and Ronald Sanger, a number or extended family members and a multitude of others who were proud to know Jim and accept his hand in friendship.Immediate local funeral services are private and cremation rites will be accorded. Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is assisting the family with Jim’s final care. A Memorial Service for Jim will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 3, 2018 when Jim is laid to rest at Paddletown Cemetery, 60 South Main Street, Manchester, Pennsylvania 17345, (717) 266-1451.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution in Jim’s memory be directed to The Heights Foundation, 15570 Hagie Drive Fort Myers, FL 33908, 239-482-7706.
