James Norman Schmiedeknecht's Obituary
James Norman Schmiedeknecht, 74, passed peacefully on December 8, 2023. Jim was born March 22, 1949 to Norman and Lillian (Drasites) Schmiedeknecht in Chicago, IL.
Jim has split his time between Fort Myers and Chicago since he retired in 2010. He worked for Maclean Power Systems in international sales and marketing traveling the world. Jim spent considerable time developing the power infrastructure in China even learning Mandarin. In his youth, he also served his country in the United States Army.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Margaret, his son, Nick (Stacey), and his granddaughters Madison and Ellie. He was blessed with many wonderful brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jim’s family has entrusted Fort Myers Memorial Gardens with the tender care of his final arrangements. At this time there are no services scheduled.
Donations may be made in his honor to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
