Jamie Christian Scott's Obituary
Dr. Jamie Christian Scott, 49, a longtime Florida resident passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020 surrounded by his loving family at his home. He was born in Takoma Park, MD on February 14, 1971.
Dr. Scott was a United States Navy Veteran, a Pharmacy Supervisor at the Lee County Veterans Health Clinic, and a member of Gulf Coast Church of Christ. He was a devoted husband, father, and man of strong faith. In Galatians 5:22-23, the Bible teaches us, “the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control”. Jamie lived his daily life exhibiting these qualities to his family, his co-workers, and his many friends. He was a lifelong learner, teaching himself to build pool cues, a pizza oven, knives, pens, cement countertops, aged steaks, restoration of an airstream, a 1949 Hudson, and projects that are still in process. He had an amazing sense of humor and was a master of random facts. On any given evening, it would not be unusual to find Jamie turning wood, smoking ribs, and helping the children with homework with the nightly news blaring. He found any opportunity to teach and tell stories to his family over a meal. Jamie’s courage to fight through this trial was grounded in the evidence of love. “Whatever it takes” was his common phrase, dedicated and guided by faith and love.
He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Allison L. Scott of Cape Coral, FL; three children, Lauren Scott, Christian Scott, and Robert Scott; his parents, James Michael Scott of Cape Coral, FL and Louisa Grace (Lynn) of Cape Coral, FL; one sister, Tiffany Snyder of Cape Coral, FL; one brother, Jesse Decker of Savannah, GA; mother-in-law, Nancy Roberts of Cape Coral, FL; sister-in-law, Lisa Lee (David) of Deerfield Beach, FL; two brothers-in-law, David Rybicki (Amy) of Fort Myers, FL and Jon Rybicki (Roberta) of Boston, MA; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held, Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Gulf Coast Church of Christ, 9550 6 Mile Cypress Pkwy, Fort Myers, FL 33966. Due to current social distancing practices, details will be added as the date becomes closer.
