Jane H. Bero's Obituary
JANE H. PIRKO BERO, 94, of Fort Myers, Florida, entered her heavenly home on May 30, 2015. She is survived by her daughter, Millie Pirko Triff of Hancock, NY and her son, David F. Pirko (Elizabeth) of Dryden, NY. She is also survived by six grandchildren; Caryn Triff Lynch of Ocala, FL, Kevin Pirko (Kirsten) of South Riding, VA, Scott Triff (Tammy) of Windsor, NY, Brian Pirko (Suzanne) of Arlington, VA, Marci Triff Foote (Matthew) of Glen Allen, VA, and Tom Pirko of Dryden, NY. In addition, she is survived by 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by three stepsons: John (Sharon) Bero of Elgin, Il, Robert (Kathy) Bero of Brooklyn, NY, and Charles (Nancy) Bero of Macomb, Il. She was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph F. Pirko Jr. in 1993 and her second husband, John W. Bero in 2003. She was also predeceased by stepson Dan (Meg) Bero of Batavia, Il. In addition to her family members, she is also survived by many special friends including Sharon and Fritz Smith, her good friend Dan Murphy, and her loving caretakers, or angels as she called them, Mary and Cynthia. She was a former resident of Ithaca, New York and worked at Cornell University for 32 years. She retired as the Registrar of the Engineering College at Cornell University and in 1990 she relocated to Fort Myers, Florida where she enjoyed hosting elegant dinner parties, baking pies for her church bake sales, playing Bridge, going on cruises, attending dinner theater with friends, and spending holidays with family members. She was also notorious for her fashion flair and turned heads wherever she went. She delighted in watching her great grandchildren grow up and was proud of their many accomplishments. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Church of the Cross in Fort Myers.
