Jane V. (Cappa) Grasso's Obituary
Jane V. (Cappa) Grasso, 85, of Ft. Myers and formerly of Rome, NY, died peacefully on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the home of her daughter, Gina G. Goggins in Worcester, MA. Jane was born in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of the late John and Mary E. (Bucci) Cappa and lived in Rome for many years, where she raised her family with her beloved husband and the love of her life for 47 years, Vincent A. “Vinnie” Grasso, who died in 2008. Today, they are dancing together again in heaven for all eternity. Jane attended Percy Hughes School and then beauty school. She spent many years as a beautician. Jane truly enjoyed life. She was a woman of strong will and determination who possessed great beauty inside and out. Often told she had “stunning eyes”, Jane was described by friends as lovely, gracious and kind. She was a proud mother and grandmother and enjoyed the time she could spend with her daughters and grandchildren. She enjoyed swimming, painting and especially cooking. Jane leaves her cherished daughters, Lisa J. Sanvidge of Ft. Myers, FL and Gina G. Goggins and her husband, Attorney John M. Goggins of Worcester; her loving “baby” brother, John Cappa of Myrtle Beach, SC; her six beautiful grandchildren whom she adored, David Jr. and Peter Sanvidge, John, James , Gianna and Genna Goggins; as well as many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, December 23, 2013 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Shriners Hospital for Children-Springfield (www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org) , 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
