Jeanette L. Swain's Obituary
Jeanette L. Swain of Fort Myers, Florida and formerly of San Jose, California, passed away Friday, October 28, 2016. She fought a very long battle with cancer but never Lost her spirit. She was 65. Jeanette was born in 1951 in Palo Alto, California; the beautiful daughter of the late Joel and Doris Gregowski. After receiving her education and teaching certificate, she worked as an elementary school teacher. Known to many as “Miss Jeanette”, she was a beloved and devoted teacher. Jeanette enjoyed the arts – everything from watercolors and acrylics to playing the piano and singing. She focused a great deal of her life on raising her daughter and sharing that love of art and learning with her. She also enjoyed being active by participating and leading jazzercise and water aerobics classes. She said one of the best years of her life was living here in fort Myers and teaching at the pool.Jeanette is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Dan Swain; her daughter, Christina Swain of Austin, Texas; her brother, Joel and two sisters; Carol and Rosemarie. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, dear sister, committed teacher and friend. Miss Jeanette will be dearly missed. A memorial gathering will be held from 1pm until 4pm, Sunday, October 30, 2016 in the chapel of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907.
