So many great memories of playing music with Jeff in the band Myth. Jeff had a great sense of humor and strong character. I'll miss his hilarious rants and his passion for great music. Rest easy Jeff.
Thought of you often, with a warm fondness. You helped make marching band an amazing adventure, the Pukes were the place to be and being a mighty, mighty mustang was and is great.
Rest in peace.
A top dude who was so full of life who I met via my good friend Stet Howland.
We used to talk loads about bands, being in Florida and had plenty of fun in the bars in and around Fort Myers and Cape Coral too partying long and hard with local groups and good friends.
Gone way too soon.... Jeff was a fantastic drummer, he loved his music to say the least and we all loved Jeff!
You could drop him into a room filled with nothing but strangers and he would walk out leaving behind nothing but friends. If I had to describe him in just one sentence, that would be the one.
I remember Jeff when he Dj for a middle school dance , I helped him we had a blast. Another time while in Choir class we went out of town for a competition and we actually drank our whole way there, we were bad all who rode in his car(dumb thing to do we know) we all had fun times in choir, he was a great singer and a wonderful friend.
He will be missed dearly
RIP Jeff

I knew Jeff back in Band at PCHS. His enthusiasm and spirit always lifted those around him, whether it be Band or a different class in school. He was a friend to all. I want to offer my condolences to his family and friends. May memories comfort you and may Jeff Rest In Peace. Gone too soon😞❤️☮️🙏🏻
The mold was broke after the arrival of Jeffrey Jacob Elzinga. I had the pleasure of being his friend for over 40 years, and his DJ partner for many years. We started doing high school dances before either of has had a drivers license and as soon as Jeff turned 16 we were off to the races and worked almost every weekend we could get booked. Weddings/ birthday/anniversary parties followed and soon we had an agent booking us. It was an honor to be the guy standing behind Jeff spinning disks as Jeff would whip the crowd into a frenzy. To say he was the best DJ is an understatement, he was the most charismatic, energetic maniac with a mic in his hands and it was magical to watch.
Jeff was also the most authentic human being on the planet. You knew exactly where you stood with him, and he didn't have a filter. He said exactly what was on his mind and didn't care if it was PC. He was passionate and unapologetic but always true to himself.
Jeff was caring and kind, would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. He had a soft spot for animals, especially rescues, and loved his cats dearly. This is evident in his request for donations to help strays.
Finally, Jeff loved his friends and family deeply. I was blessed to have been a part of a weekly video chat with him and several friends during this pandemic. Jeff and Stephanie also came to visit this summer. The things he most talked about were his beautiful wife, his amazing kids, his friends, music, and his kitties.
I keep saying 'gone but not forgotten' knowing that it is true. If you ever had the pleasure of knowing Jeffrey Jacob Elzinga you will never forget him, and I know I will never, and am a better person for having the pleasure.
That smile, that laugh, the memories will last forever my friend. PCHS Puke, drummer. You are an amazing soul. Rest well....
