Jeffrey Jerry Van Ness, 66, of Fort Myers, FL died March 23, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family after a year long battle with cancer.Jeffrey was born January 14, 1951 in Jamestown, NY, the son of Jerry M. and Beatrice L. (Lofgren) Van Ness. He married Sena Dorsey on November 3, 1988 in Fort Myers, FL.Jeffrey was a veteran of the US Army. After completing his military service he worked for many years as a subcontractor for Citgo Gas. Jeffrey was very mechanically inclined. It did not matter whether he was building fences, houses, or working on his cars and tractors, that is what he truly enjoyed. He had a fondness for motorcycling and camping and he loved the outdoors.Surviving are his wife Sena; children David Van Ness (Christine) of Jamestown, NY, Aleda Van Ness (Devin) of Jamestown, NY, Sydni Ciamillo (James) of Cape Coral, FL; sister, Dianne Hart (Alan) of Nassau, NY; grandson Maddox Ciamillo; and a granddaughter on the way.The Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Jeffrey.
