Jerri Lynn Coen's Obituary
Jerri Lynn Coen, 68, lovingly known as “Nana,” was born on February 16, 1958, in Berea, Kentucky, and passed away on March 2, 2026. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love and strength defined her life.
For many years, Jerri worked tirelessly to provide for her family, often holding two jobs at a time. She worked in Loss Prevention at Walmart, as a School Bus Driver, and at Sunsplash. No matter where she worked, she carried her strong work ethic, dedication, and caring heart with her. She worked to support her husband Rick through sickness and in health, and to help provide for her grandchildren, never hesitating to put her family first.
Jerri helped raise her grandchildren and played an active, loving role in their everyday lives. They were not just her grandchildren; they were her heart. She adored them and her great-grandchildren more than anything in this world. Every hug, every laugh, and every moment together meant everything to her.
In the past year, Jerri faced health challenges. Throughout this difficult time, her devoted grandchildren, Mariah and Chase, stepped in with love and compassion, ensuring she was comfortable and well cared for. Their unwavering support and gentle care were a testament to the deep bond she shared with them and the legacy of love she leaves behind.
She had a gentle spirit and found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Jerri loved dolphins and butterflies, symbols of beauty and hope that reflected her own spirit. She also enjoyed working on puzzles, patiently piecing them together, just as she patiently and lovingly built her family’s life.
She is survived by her daughter, Shonna (49); her loving grandchildren, Mariah (29) and Chase (17); her great-grandson, Jayden (2); and her unborn great-grandson, due in June 2026. She is also survived by her siblings, Gail, Otis, and Darrell, along with many other cherished family members and dear friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
Now reunited with her beloved Rick in heaven, Jerri’s legacy lives on in the family she nurtured, the sacrifices she made, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
