Jerry Isaac Brand's Obituary
Jerry I. Brand, M.D., passed away April 3, 2012.?áHe was born January 7, 1940 in Cuba to the late Harold and Sally Finifter.?á Dr. Brand was the former Medical Director for the Volusia County Health Department and has years of experience throughout the state of Florida specializing in many programs which include Primary Care, Epidemiology, Tuberculosis, HIV/Aids and sexually transmitted diseases. Dr. Brand received his Doctor of Medicine from Chicago Medical School in Chicago, Illinois and received his Master of Public Health (Epidemiology) from John Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.?áAdditionally, he has vast medical experience in the military which includes Medical Airlift Coordinator and Senior Flight Surgeon at Hunter Army Airfield in Georgia during Desert Storm; Commander-43rd MASH in the Republic of Korea; Aviation and Operational Medicine in the United States Army; and a Flight Surgeon for the United States Air Force. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 22 years, Judy; sons, Michael Brand and his girlfriend, Christina Stauffer, Cody Brand and Cameron Brand; daughters, Becky Brand Arruda and her husband, Tom, Ta-Ha Dever; and 7 grandchildren.
