Jerry Lee Hancock of Pine Island, Florida, passed away unexpectedly Friday, August 25, 2017. He was 70. Jerry was born May 15, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan; the son of Albert Randolph Hancock and Lorna Ellen Hancock. Jerry had a successful career in marketing with notable recognition of his achievements throughout the years. He loved the beauty of his garden, all critters great and small, and found serenity in the water and woods.Jerry married his “best friend,” Julie, in 1971. Over the past 46 years they have navigated life’s journey hand-in-hand. Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Julie, and his mother, brother and sister. He leaves behind his three children Michelle (Bill), Julia, Scott (Ashley), his grandson and best little buddy, Hudson, and his cherished companion, Dweezle the Great Dane.Jerry will forever be remembered as a truly loving, generous and compassionate man who left a footprint on this earth. Immediate funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the local animal shelter of your choice.
