Joan Ann Baylor's Obituary
Joan Ann (Miller) Baylor, 79 of Pine Island, FL, went to be with the Lord, January 22, 2015. Born in Phillipsburg, NJ, she was a resident of Pine Island for 26 years. Daughter of George Elwood and Lenora Martin (Cornelia) Miller. Wife of Horace Earl Baylor Sr. for 62 years. Beloved mother of JoAnn Baylor Green of Sparta, TN., Bud Baylor of Cabot, Arkansas, and Stephen Elwood Baylor. She is also survived by Son-in-law Daniel Michael Green and daughter-in-law Debbie Baylor. Loved by brother Robert Miller and wife Joan of Pennsylvania and sister Carolyn and husband Bub Teabo. Cherished grandmother of Roy Elton Struble, FL., Christina Joan Herrero, Dunnelon, FL., Brian and Bonnie Baylor, Aubrey Martinez, and 6 great-grand children. Joan was a devoted wife and mother. The New York Yankees were her passion and her family was her life. Her favorite baseball player was Derek Jeter. Joan was a life long member of Avon’s Presidents Club, Assistant Queen of the Red Hat Society (Frollicking Rollicking Reds), member of Pine Island VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Past President of Flamingo Bay Hobby Club, and involved with Flamingo Bay Association for years. Before moving to Florida, Joan lived in Belvidere, NJ., where she was a Den mother for her children’s Cub Scouts and actively involved with Belvidere’s baseball and football little league teams. Joan’s creative side came out in her ceramics and crafts. In lieu of flowers please make contributions in Joan’s memory to the National Leukemia Foundation.Immediate funeral arrangements are private.
