Carol Moorhead Van Lew
Dear Debbie and family: I am sending my sympathy for your loss. I was surprised to learn that your mother passed away recently, and I have been fondly remembering our years of friendship. I grew up with Joan from the time we were very small children at the First Christian Church in Canton Ohio. We used to call her Joanne. We were in the same Sunday School class from year to year until we graduated from high school. We had the same Sunday School teacher during our teens. Her name was Mrs. Carpenter, and we called ourselves “Carpy’s Cuties” . We were also active together in the youth group (Christian Endeavor), sang in the choir together, and enjoyed many church activities (including church camp at Erieside). After high school we all went separate ways but kept in touch thru email and Christmas cards. It is bitter sweet because we know she no longer suffers and is in a better place; but I know she leaves a large empty space in the lives of all who loved her. May the Lord be with you during this difficult time. Sincerely, Carol Van Lew
