Joan LoVecchio's Obituary
Joan LoVecchio, 87, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025. Joan was born on September 28, 1937, in Waverly, New York, to Leslie Elliott Oswalt and Irene Lucy "Race" Oswalt.
Joan was a dedicated and loving individual whose life was filled with passion, kindness, and service. She worked as a school bus driver before retirement, touching the lives of countless children with her warmth and care. Beyond her career, she was an avid reader, a youth softball coach, a devoted school volunteer, and a talented artist who loved bowling and painting. Joan's hobbies and contributions reflected her vibrant spirit and her love for her community.
Joan was happily married for 59 wonderful years to the love of her life, Rudolph LoVecchio. Together, they built a beautiful life and were blessed with four children: Karen Wood, Cindy Miller, Mark LoVecchio, and Scott LoVecchio. Joan's legacy continues through her children, her 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
She is preceded in passing by her beloved husband, Rudolph, her brothers Robert Oswalt and Duane Oswalt and her sister Vivian Satterly. She is fondly remembered by her family and countless friends whose lives she touched.
Joan's family has entrusted Fort Myers Memorial Gardens with the tender care of her final arrangements. There will be a funeral service Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 9AM with her burial immediately following.
