Joaquin Nieves Soto's Obituary
Joaquin Nieves Soto, 91, of Lehigh Acres, Florida passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025. Joaquin was born August 30, 1933, in Camuy, Puerto Rico.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation in his honor on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until a Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Joaquin has called Florida his home since 2010 to be with family. He was known to most as the positive and humble man who loved to laugh and make jokes. He loved music, dancing and playing dominoes. He was always filled with joy and love for all.
Joaquin is preceded in passing by his parents, Juan Nieves and Leonzia Soto; sisters, Carmen Nieves, Annie Nieves, and Matilda Nieves; his son, Hector Silva; granddaughter, Yahaira Nieves; and first wife, Mary Nieves.
Joaquin is survived by his wife, Carmen Eva Nieves; and his children, Jose, Jesus, Milta, Alex, Efrain, Albert, Jose Jr., Carmen, Catherine, Joaquin and Peter. He was also a proud grandfather of 38 and great grandfather of 44 beautiful kids.
Joaquin’s family has entrusted Fort Myers Memorial Gardens with the tender care of his final arrangements.
Joaquín Nieves Soto, de 91 años, de Lehigh Acres, Florida, falleció pacíficamente el 11 de febrero de 2025. Joaquín nació el 30 de agosto de 1933 en Camuy, Puerto Rico.
Se invita a familiares y amigos a una visita en su honor el sábado 15 de febrero de 2025 en Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home desde las 10:00 a. m. hasta un servicio fúnebre a las 12:00 p. m. El entierro se realizará en el cementerio Memorial Gardens.
Joaquín ha llamado a Florida su hogar desde 2010 para estar con su familia. La mayoría lo conocía como el hombre positivo y humilde al que le encantaba reír y hacer bromas. Amaba la música, bailar y jugar dominó. Siempre estaba lleno de alegría y amor por todos.
Joaquín es precedido en la muerte por sus padres, Juan Nieves y Leonzia Soto; hermanas Carmen Nieves, Annie Nieves y Matilda Nieves. Su hijo Héctor Silva, su nieta Yahaira Nieves y su primer matrimonio con Mary Nieves.
A Joaquín le sobreviven su esposa Carmen Eva Nieves y sus hijos José, Jesús, Milta, Alex, Efraín, Albert, José Jr., Carmen, Catherine, Joaquín y Peter. También fue un orgulloso abuelo de 38 y bisabuelo de 44 hermosos niños.
