John Thomas Barry's Obituary
John Thomas Barry, a lifelong resident of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on August 10, 1948, to Emory James Barry and Rose Marie Schwartz, John loved his life here in the beautiful state of Florida.
John’s life was a melody of beautiful moments. His love for singing and playing the piano brought joy to many, and his deep connection with nature was evident in his passion for swimming, taking long walks, and tending to his garden. He found peace and contentment in the simple pleasures of life, and his presence brightened the lives of those around him.
He is preceded in passing by his beloved parents, Emory and Rose Marie Barry, and his dear wife, Norma Jean Barry. John leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories with his surviving family members: his sister, Linda Simmons; his niece, Regina Roth and her sons Zachary, Brian, and Joshua; and his sister-in-law, Marguerite Musselman, brother-in-law Mark Ciccanti. Their hearts are filled with the warmth and love John shared with them throughout his life.
John will be dearly missed, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the melodies and beauty he cherished.
John’s family has entrusted Fort Myers Memorial Gardens with the tender care of his final arrangements. There will be a memorial service for John held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 12pm at Villas Grace Church 2141 Crystal Dr Fort Myers, FL 33907.
