Best E.N.T. I know! He gave me the gift of hearing. I was in and out of his office from the age 4-18 he rebuilt both of my ear drums. One of them he said was the shape of a lifesaver the other was fused to my skull. He used a piece of bone from behind my ear to make my left ear drum . The last time I saw him was in 2012 when I turned 18.
Man was he such a talented guy! Just found out about his passing unfortunately so sad.
No other doctor compares. I met Dr. Donaldson in 1994. I didn’t care for him at first but he was the only doctor who figured what was wrong with my son and for that I’m forever grateful. He treated my son for 28 years. I literally just told him that we haven’t seen Dr. Donaldson in 4 years, I’m going to make an appointment. That is how I found out about his passing. He was beyond exceptional in his knowledge and care for his patients. We will truly miss him. Our condolences to the family.

Miss you now more than ever. Miss you Kash joke... haha! Of course we need your steady hand once again but have to see someone else. Who would you have recommended? I wonder. You live on in our hearts and heads. Rest well our friend.
I just learnt about John’s passing away. He was my resident in Otolaryngology for 4 years in Halifax, N.S. I had fun training him and never met a person like John. I am really saddened but am sure he is having fun up there. Nurul Wali

Krista & Family; I am so sorry for your loss.
JD mentored me in 1967 to join the Royal Canadian Navy as a medical student at the University of Saskatchewan. Our lives remained intertwined for the next 54 years. I most revere our Friday evening meetings at RA Park in Halifax & his FB picture postings of his home in Pictou County NS & his animal pics from Namibia. His selfies of him & “Chicken” were hilarious. A brilliant paediatric ENT Surgeon & a loyal naval warrior. Fair Winds & Following Seas JD. Brian Chutskoff CD MD FRCSC (ret’d)
JD- He always made me laugh.. Sweet dreams Doc- you gave us all so much to remember; now, you will never be forgotten. Peace be yours.
JD was an incredible physician, humanitarian and a great colleague. Truly a great person to work with and a great friend. It was great working with him and he will be missed by all.
Bon voyage and enjoy your peace and rest.
