John Edward Ireland's Obituary
John Edward Ireland, Jr., 86, of Fort Myers, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015. He was born November 14, 1928 in Bridgeton, NJ and moved to Fort Myers from Easton, MD in 1994. He retired in 1992 from Airpax Electronics in Cambridge, MD. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of St. Therese Catholic Church, past president of the Ticker Tapers Investment Club and member of the Del Tura Golf Association. Mr. Ireland is survived by his children: Kevin Ireland (Liz) of Salsbury, MD, Kelly Murray (John) of Chester, VA and Neil Ireland (Beth) of Easton, MD; his grandchildren: Joe, Sam, Cody and Sarah; his great granddaughter, Amelia and his brother, Roger Ireland (Peggy) of Lake Wales. Also surviving is his loving partner, Barbara Taylor and her children: Geri-Ann Walker and Nancy Taylor and Barbara’s grandson, Danny Taylor. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 12, 2015 in the Clubhouse of the Del Tura Country Club, 18621 North Tamiami Trail, North Fort Myers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hope Hospice of Lee County, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
