John Michael Graf's Obituary
John Michael Graf, 89, of North Fort Myers, FL, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 25, 2025. A resident of North Fort Myers since 2001, John lived a life of integrity, service, and dedication to both his family and community.
Born on June 11, 1936, in El Paso, TX, he was the beloved son of the late George K. and Elizabeth Ann Graf. A gifted athlete, John graduated high school in 1954 as a football star and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in engineering from Ohio University.
A proud veteran, John served honorably in the United States Marine Corps. Following his military service, he built a successful career at John Deere, where he led quality control operations until his retirement in 1978. In his later years, John found purpose in teaching and mentoring, sharing his skills and compassion with inmates at the Hendry County Jail.
John is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Gloria J. (Reshnet) Graf; son, Karl Anthony (Lisa) Graf of Okeechobee, FL; daughter, Denise A. Selvidio of Fort Myers, FL; and step-son, Richard E. (Lirong) Poerio of Orlando, FL. He also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Graf, and his son, Kenneth Graf.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 5 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 20115 N. Tamiami Trail, North Fort Myers, FL 33903. Burial and a reception will follow at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens.
