John Francis Kennedy's Obituary
John Francis Kennedy, 84, of Ft. Myers, FL, passed away peacefully on Oct. 19, 2017 at Hope Hospice House, Cape Coral, FL. He was born in Middleboro, MA. He enlisted in the Navy in 1953, and after serving, continued being active in the Coast Guard Reserves. He was a business partner with his late wife, Jeanette, in several private family businesses. He resided in Middleboro, MA until 1985 when he retired to Ft. Myers where he enjoyed sailing and spending time with friends and family. He especially enjoyed traveling to Hawaii.He is survived by his three daughters, Linda Bruce of Massachusetts, and her husband Jeffrey Bruce; Doreen Burnham and her husband, Daryl, of Hebron, Maine; and Lisa Broadbent and her fiancé, Alan Moreau, of Taunton, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Courtney and Robert Burnham, Liana Arruda, and great-grandson, Nicholas. He was predeceased by his sister, Carmen Allen, and his brothers, William Kennedy and Chester Kennedy, Jr. The family wishes to convey their gratitude and appreciation to the Hope Hospice House staff for their care, compassion, kindness and support during John’s stay. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in his name to Hope Hospice House, 9470 Healthpark Cir., Ft. Myers, FL 33908.Memorial Mass will be held 9 AM Thursday, October 26, 2017 at St. Vincent DePaul Church 13031 Palm Beach Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33905. He will be laid to rest with his beloved Jeanette at 10:30 AM Thursday in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Honors will be presented by the United States Coast Guard.
