John Lehmann's Obituary
John Lehmann, 87, of Nashville, TN passed away peacefully on June 12, 2024. John was born December 11, 1936, to Gottlieb and Emily Lehmann in Chicago, IL.
John’s career starting in Chicago was in sales, and he loved making deals with any type of customers. He had a way of solving problems with his signature style of direct communication and clever humor that left every customer feeling they got a good deal or at least had a good time making the purchase. He was a big supporter of The United Way in Glen Ellyn, IL where he raised his children with Shirley Lehman.
In his retirement, John enjoyed spending time with his children, his grandchildren and the community at The Landings where he volunteered much of his time as President of the community he lived with wife Lila. He used his business acumen to secure quality work at the best prices to maintain their beautiful property. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing tennis and relaxing with his wife Lila and their cats. They also loved traveling to all of the national parks and visiting with family. In Nashville, John was a bright star in his community at Clarendale at Bellevue Place - always greeting staff and friends by name and usually getting a laugh or giggle out of most!
John leaves his loving memory with his survivors: his younger sister Nancy Samuelson and her children Kristi Anne, Lowell Wayne and Laura Joon Jung Kim and spouses and her grandchildren Melanie, Brooke, Ryan, Parker, Noah, Henry, Oliver, his older sister Esther Coady, John's children Jay Lehmann and spouse Keri, his daughter Gwen Pontikes and spouse Nick, his daughter Jennifer Lindsay, and his grandchildren Dylan, Katherine, Natalie, Eleanor, Kenneth, Maurice, Fiona and Tadao.
