John Joseph Malt's Obituary
John Joseph Malt of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 16, 2014 to the deep sadness of his wife, family and friends. John was born on February 15, 1952 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Charles and Mildred Malt. John is survived by his loving wife and best friend of over 28 years, Gail and their son, Chad and his wife, Kimberly. He graduated from Fort Myers High School in 1970 and was a graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a Degree in Finance/Real Estate. Five years ago, John embraced the opportunity of working alongside his brother Bob at Malt Village Homes and moved to Hot Springs Village where he was an active member of the Board of Realtors and the Chamber Of Commerce. For 10 years, John was a successful commercial and multi-family builder in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was also a builder/developer/general contractor in Fort Myers, Florida of the following award-winning communities which include: Parkwoods, The Hamlet, Cedarbend and Mission Monterey. John was a loving person filled with happiness and laughter and was respected by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but the memory of his goodness will last forever. In addition to his parents, John was also predeceased by his sister, Kathleen Beres (Malt). He is survived by Ashleigh and Charlsie from a prior marriage along with 7 siblings, Bob (Julie), Dick (Kathy), Carol, Patricia, Meryl, Michelle and David (Lisa) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 22, 2014 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2157 Cleveland Ave., Fort Myers with interment to follow in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
