John Martin Pedersen, 75, of Fort Myers, FL, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2010 at Hope Hospice in Fort Myers, FL.?á John was born in Lista, Norway, on May 13, 1935, to Whilhelm and Jennia Pedersen.?á John was the youngest son of seven children.?á He immigrated to the United States in 1955 and married his beloved bride, Thelma Larsen, on June 22, 1957 in Brooklyn, NY.?á?á He worked for many years as a skilled carpenter in the New York City area, until he, Thelma and their children moved to Lee County in 1978.?á John was a committed and active member of the First Assembly of God Church in Fort Myers, where he served in numerous capacities, including Church Counsel, Deacon, Elder, the First Assembly Choir and as a committed prayer warrior.?á John was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Helena, Johanna and Lillian, of Norway; and his brother Peder, of Mount Bethel, PA.?á Survivors include his bride of 53 years, Thelma, of Fort Myers, FL; brothers Kristian and Whilhelm of Norway; five children, Ruth (Martel), son-in-law David, and granddaughters, Ashley and Megan, of Baltimore, MD; David Pedersen, wife Denise, and grandsons, David and Nicolas, of Bradenton; daughter Judy (Peck), son-in-law Don, and grandchildren Joe and Danielle, of Fort Myers; daughter Ellen (Powers), son-in-law Tim, and grandchildren Kiersten and Timmy, ?áof Washington, DC; and daughter Darlene (Polley), son-in-law Tim, and grandchildren Justin, Kyle and Katarina, of Springfield, MO.?á ?á?á?á Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 27th, at 1 pm at the First Assembly of God Church, at 4701 Summerlin Rd. in Fort Myers, FL.?á Family will receive friends from 12:00 noon ?Çô 1 pm immediately preceding the service.?á Internment will follow the service at Coral Ridge Cemetery on Pine Island Road in Cape Coral, FL.
