John J. Turner's Obituary
John J. Turner, 91, of North Fort Myers, died on Monday, February 27, 2012 at Emeritus at The Lakes Senior Living Community.?á He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Phyllis and is survived by his wife of 14 years, Rosalie S. Turner. Born in Burnley, England, he was the son of the late John and Mary Magdalene (Leonard) Turner.?á He is also predeceased by his sisters and their husbands, Connie and John Sugden, Joan and Martin Davis, Theresa and Ken Bridges, all of England.?á He served in the British Merchant Navy during World War II on the Pasteur, the Queen Elizabeth and the Queen Mary.?á He retired as president of a small hardware manufacturer representative firm on Long Island, NY.?á He was a member of St. Therese Catholic Mission, North Fort Myers and a fourth degree knight of the Knights of Columbus. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, NancyAnn and her husband, Robert Parrotte of San Antonio, TX; two grandsons, Richard and his wife, LaurieLynn of Lincoln, CA and Robert and his wife, Collette of Dupont, WA; four great grandchildren: Kelsey, Aaron, Jake and Matthew Parrotte and several nieces and nephews. He was for 20 years an active member of the Tara Woods community.?á He enjoyed traveling, riding his bike, his wife and his family, especially his great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at St. Therese Catholic Mission, 20115 N. Tamiami Trail, North Fort Myers, FL 33903 with burial to follow in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.?á Visitation will be on Monday, March 5, 2012 from 4 ?Çô 6 PM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Turner?ÇÖs memory may be made to The Alzheimer?ÇÖs Association.
