Jose A. Martinez, 78, of Naples passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010.?á Born in the Dominican Republic, Jose moved and lived in NY for 3 years before finally moving to FL for the past 10 years. He was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church. A mechanic all of his life, he enjoyed and took pride in his work. He also loved helping people, listening to music, a good meal and his beloved Yankees which he enjoyed watching. He was an excellent husband, loving father and great friend that set a example for all others to follow. He will always be our hero. Jose is survived by his beloved wife of over 41 years Olga; 9 cherished children Yudy (Martin) Mieses of Eht, NJ, Yolanda Flores of Corona, NY, Elvis (Renee) of NC, Jose (Carmen) of Lehigh Acres, FL, Marialena (Sentola) of Santo Domingo, DR, Rosa (Silvio) of Esperanza, DR, Jose T. of New York, NY, Rafael of Esperanza, DR and Berkis (Carlos) Morel of New York, NY; sister Juana of Santiago, DR; 25 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Andres and Josefina and siblings Ramona, Valeria and Lepido. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 16th at Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home between the hours of 12 ?Çô 2pm with service and entombment to follow.
