Josefina T. Evangelista's Obituary
Josefina (Josie) Tongko Evangelista of Cape Coral, Florida passed away peacefully at Health Park Medical Center, Fort Myers, FL, on Monday, April 26, 2021 following some recent medical challenges. She was born in Malabon, Rizal(now Metro-Manila), Philipines on June 19, 1943 to Santiago Evangelista and Flora Tongko. She was 77 years old.
Josie's family will be celebrating her life, on Thursday, May 6, 2021 inside the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Vernon Hunt from Christian Life Fellowship church, of Cape Coral will conduct a Memorial Service to honor the special life of Josie and to offer prayers for her commendation to the Lord.
Josie loved the Lord Jesus Christ. She loved and was very active in her church, Christian Life Fellowship. She attended numerous Bible studies, she was a part of the Prayer Team, a Greeter, she was on the Hospitality and Life Track teams, she sponsored a child at a CLF Mission in Columbia, and for years was on the housekeeping crew. She loved traveling; visiting such places as Eastern Europe, Spain, England, Singapore and many of the Western US National Parks.
Other activities she enjoyed were: being around family, studying the Bible, dining out with friends, watching TV, attending church and picking up her grandnephew, Junior, from school on Fridays.
She received all of her education in the Philipines, receiving her Bachelors Degree from the University of the East in Manilla. She moved to The USA in the 1970’s, where she had a successful career in Accounting/Auditing.
She is survived by two brothers, Pat (Cape Coral, Fl), Maverick (Paranaque, Philipines) and two sisters, Florita (Estero, FL), Mylene(Antipolo, Philipines) and nieces and nephews.

Following this ceremony, friends and family will recess to adjacent Memorial Gardens Cemetery where Josefina will be laid to rest inside the Cremation Garden located at the Sylvan Terrace Section.
