Joseph Chomey's Obituary
Joseph Chomey,92 years of age, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away onTuesday, January 28, 2014 at Cape Coral Hospital in Cape Coral, Florida. Mr. Chomey was born in Spring Valley, New York, a son of the late Alex Chomey and Mary Pivorar Chomey. Joseph was the widow of the late Bernice Chomey who passed away in 2010 and was also by a son, Bruce Chomey who passed away in 1955. He retired from Mobay Industries in Hawthorne, New Jersey as a Project Supervisor. Mr. Chomey was a veteran of the United States Navy and was honorably discharged. He participated with the Honor Guard of the VFW Post #8463 of Cape Coral, Florida. Joseph was a very giving oriented person always ready to help anyone. He enjoyed the outdoors and working in his yard. He leaves to cherish his memory, children, Barry (Cindy) Chomey and Alice Major both of Cape Coral, Florida and Glenn (Diane) Chomey of Dandridge, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Stephanie Chomey, Keri Perkins, Ariel Chomey, and Adam Chomey; his great grandchildren, Christian Chomey and Lucas Perkins; and a sister, Mary Chomey of New Jersey. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in June at a time to be announced by the family. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.fortmyersmemorial.com.
