Joseph Divita's Obituary
Joseph Divita of Estero, Florida, and formerly of Shell Point in Fort Myers, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2016 with his loving family by his side. He was 86 years old.Mr. Divita was born on October 3, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois, the proud son of Virginia (Dugo) and John Divita. He was the loving husband to Laura Ann Divita. Sadly, he was preceded in death by his wfe, mother, father, three brothers, two sisters and a daughter. He was the longtime owner/operator in the field of automobile repair and tire sales and was a dealer for Shell Gasoline, Firestone and Goodyear. He moved to Florida in 1984.Mr. Divita is survived by his daughters Virginia Jenkinson and Loretta Divita; grandson Joseph Jenkinson; granddaughters Christine Gulotta (Christopher), Kathleen Sheehan (Shane), Kelly Jenkinson; many great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family and those who loved him and by the numerous people who were proud to call him a friend.A Visitation for Joseph will be conducted from 10:30 AM until 2:30 PM inside the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. Immediately following the conclusion of visitation, friends and family will recess to adjacent Memorial Gardens Cemetery where Joseph will be laid to rest with his dearly departed wife Laura in Patio of Peace Mausoleum.
