Joseph M. ?Ç£Joe?Ç¥ Thomas, 82, died July 2, 2013 in Fort Myers, Florida with his family at his side. He was born on August 5, 1930 in Haiti. He moved to Long Island, New York in 1950 and finally retiring to Fort Myers, Florida in 2000, with his beloved wife Maggie Thomas. He enjoyed baseball (Yankees # 1 fan) and playing dominos with his family and friends. Joe always looked forward to spending quality time with his family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Maggie Thomas of Fort Myers, Florida; his five children ,Linda (Greg) Batson of Freeport, NY, Julie Thomas of Huntington, NY, Monna (Geoffrey) Bagley of Temple Hill, MD, Sam (Sandra) Thomas of Huntington, NY and Joanne (Sam) Edwards of Fort Myers, FL; ten grandchildren, and special children, Rosemarie (Dieuseul) Rosier of Huntington, NY, Chrisner (Leonie) Chatelier of Fort Myers, FL and three kids whom he called friend, one special cousin-in-law, Bertha Rumph of Atlanta, GA whom he called wife # 3 and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; He is also survived by his sister, Theresa M. (Francois) Petit Homme of Washington, DC; three sisters-in-law Susanna Colston of Birmingham, AL, Lonnie M. Rice (wife # 2) and Gloria Rice; a brother-in-law, Eddie B. (Jewell) Rice of Fort Myers, FL. visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 PM in the chapel of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, Florida 33907. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 10:00 AM, Entombment will follow in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
