Joseph Anthony LoMenzo's Obituary
Joseph Anthony LoMenzo Sr. or Fort Myers, Florida passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 following some recent health challenges. He was 100 years old.Mr. LoMenzo was born on April 1, 1916 in the Boro of Queens, New York City, the proud son of Josephine (Ingrassia) and Frank LoMenzo. He was a World War II Veteran who served with the United States Army. Following the end of hostilities, Joseph joined the Police Department for the City of New York where he spent his career. He was the devoted husband to Frances (Gurniak) LoMenzo who sadly preceded him in death in 2002. He was also the proud father to and leaves behind to cherish his memory his sons Roger LoMenzo and Joseph A. LoMenzo Jr.A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 9:00 am on Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Chapel of Light inside the Mausoleum at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Military honors will thereafter be provided by the Harney Point Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8463.
