Joseph Miron's Obituary
Joseph Miron, 93, of Fort Myers, passed on Saturday December 21, 2024, at Discovery Village, Fort Myers, FL.
He was born on October 1, 1931, in Baraga, MI the son of the late Joseph and Alma (Anderson) Miron. Joe grew up in Baraga and graduated Baraga Area High in 1949. He married his wife Mary Elizabeth (Feeheley) in 1959, they were married 48 years, until her passing in 2011. He served with the United States Air Force for four years.
Joe studied business and accounting at Ferris State University and graduated in 1953. He was employed as an IRS auditor at the Dow Corning Company and retired after 30 years of employment.
He resided in Honor, MI in the summers and ran a small campground where good times were had by family and good friends. He resided in Fort Myers, FL during winter months. Joe and Mary enjoyed traveling to new destinations in their RV. He also enjoyed playing golf, and watching baseball, college and Pro basketball. He was an avid Lions and Tigers fan.
Joe is survived by his girlfriend of 12 years Annie Whitaker of Kansas City, MO, and his granddaughters Shannon (Gilbert) Coty and Cortney (Benny) Miller of Saginaw, MI, grandsons Easton Coty and Ayden Wyse. He was proceeded in death by his daughter Michelle (Watters) Miron and son Joseph (Jody) Miron, 5 brothers Donald, Earl, Lester, Raymond, and Rodger Miron, 3 sisters Rita LeClaire, Norma Ross, and Mary Frances LeClaire.
There will be no funeral service, a celebration of life will be held at a later date this summer.
