Joseph A. Pulte's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph A. Pulte (71) of North Ft. Myers, FL on May 5, 2026.
He was a beloved husband to Monica for 41 years, a dedicated father to Joseph Pulte (Leesa), Elizabeth Schmidt (Robert), Denilynne Pulte and Donnie Pulte (Chelsi), and a doting grandfather/"bebop" to Leah, Randy, Wesley, Emily, Elianna, Avery, Gregory, and Archer who were his pride and joy. He is survived additionally by his four sisters- Mary Jo Silver, Nancy Anderson (Ron), Judy Kalpin (Lanny), and Jeanne Bowen as well as his brother Daniel Pulte and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph & Dorice, and his brother-in-law Ken Bowen.
Joseph was born to Joseph and Dorice Pulte on March 24,1955 in Royal Oak, Michigan. Soon life would bring the family to Ft. Myers, FL where he recounted a wonderful childhood with friendships that would last him a lifetime. In his early years he started his own lawn mowing business then later worked on various farms in the area. He attended St. Francis Xavier Catholic School, Bishop Verot High School, Edison Community College and then University of Florida where he studied agriculture. He left UF for the opportunity to begin Pulte Cattle Ranch alongside his father. The ranch was his happy place and his passion that he got to share with his children.
Sickness took him many miles away from home and he was always eager to get back to it. Joseph was very involved in his church, St. Vincent De Paul, for many years where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Joseph was a quiet fighter- never one to complain or even speak of his health struggles. He was a renowned liar to doctors, repeatedly stating "I'm fine" to the dismay of his wife and daughters. He battled Mantle Cell Lymphoma for many years and his sister, Nancy, selflessly donated bone marrow therefore prolonging his life by many more years.
He was a wonderful and kind man. His legacy lives on in many. He will be missed tremendously by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that you support your local farmers.
