In 2007, we started a neighborhood Women's Bible study and we hoped to find someone to lead our group as none of us really had that gift. A friend of mine knew Joyce and asked her if she was interested. How very blessed we were that she became our precious Teacher. She would drive to us every week, which was quite a distance from her home, and when Wally felt she shouldn't drive anymore, he drove her and waited to drive her home. When they moved to Shell Point, which was even further away, they faithfully continued the commitment. Joyce's knowledge of the Bible, her wisdom, compassion, love, and ability to lead and facilitate was unparalleled. The love they had for one another was obvious and poured over into the lives of all of us. We are forever grateful for Joyce's teaching and her desire to help us all grow in the Lord. My name is Robyn. I work for LabCorp in fort Myers Florida. On Monday and Thursdays I go to Shellpoint Larson facility and draw blood. For over two years ive had the pleasure of knowing Wally & Joyce. Their love for each was so evident from the first time I met them. My fondest memory is him calling Joyce his beautiful bride. Truly two of the nicest people who resided at Shellpoint. They both will be deeply missed by me. Rest in peace lovebirds ❤️❤️🙏🙏

Wally’s selflessness in the starting of a 2nd CBMC in Toledo.

Wally and a couple of other brothers started a bible study group that resulted in the first Mayor’s “Prayer Breakfast “ in Toledo in 1990. This Prayer Breakfast still operates to this day sharing Christ with The Toledo business community.

Sharon and I spent many nights in their home after they relocated to Florida. They were an excellent model for us to follow.

Joyce took the time to meet with my mom and me when I was in high school trying to figure out where to go to college. We meet at a restaurant and talked for several hours. Based on her recommendation, I attended BJU in Greenville, SC, and it truly affected the trajectory of the rest of my life. Dear Yeager family,

I am writing on behalf of the Alumni Relations Department. We were sorry to learn of passing of Wally and Joyce. We are very thankful they were part of our BJU family and count it a privilege to call them our alumni.

We are thinking of you and your family and praying for you all as you go through this difficult time. Praise the Lord our hope is in Christ, and even though we sorrow, we don’t sorrow as those who have no hope. We can be confident that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

We cannot fully know what you are going through, but please know we are praying that God’s grace, His love, and His strength will sustain you in the weeks, months, and even years to come.

I thank God that Joyce and Wally were willing to be involved with Wes and I with 10 children. They were so patient with the 2 of us who knew nothing about the Bible or a personal relationship with Christ. We both were diligently taught by them not only learning but also they lived out what they believed. I will never forget them. They were the most important part of our lives. Barb Falls

I remember lots of laughter and wonderful times at their cottage at Maranatha and more good times in their beautiful home in Ft. Myers, FL. They were great friends, so generous and loving and encouraging. Heaven is rejoicing at their arrival. Reunion Day will be sweet! They are “finally home!”
