Joyce Martin's Obituary
Joyce P. “Pat” Martin passed away on Thursday July 29, 2010 of the Heritage of North Fort Myers, Fl. Beloved wife of William for 64 years and a member of St Therese Catholic Church. Pat was born in Defiance, OH to John and Veronica Coates on November 30, 1924, the yougest of 4 girls. She graduated from Mercy High School, Chicago, Il and married the love of her life on June 15, 1946. Besides Chicago, Il, she lived in Mundelein, Il, Cedar Rapids, IA West Lafayette, In and Grandview, MO before moving to the Heritage in North Fort Myers in 1995. Prior to her stroke in 2003 she was active at the Heritage in many of their community activities including golf and bocce ball. Surviving also are her son, Kenneth of Des Moines, IA, daughter Carol and Son-in-law William Lafferty of Olathe, KS; her grandchildren Lori Kramer of Raymore, MO; Brian, James and Brittany Martin of Des Moines, IA; Great-Grandchildren Sierra and Gregory Martin of Des Moines, IA and Nickolas Kramer-Damiano of Raymore, MO. We wish to thank the many caregivers Pat has had over the past few years especially those at Hope Hospice of North Fort Myers. We also want to thank all of her friends, family and fellow parishioners for their many prayers offered for her during her long illness. In lieu of flowers the family requests that all donations be sent in her name to The Hope Hospice of North Fort Myers.
