Joyce Sauls' Obituary
Our precious mother, Joyce Mitchell Sauls, passed away unexpectedly on June 11, 2010. She was born on September 29, 1926 in Raleigh, NC, the daughter of JM and Portia Mitchell. She graduated from high school in Fuquay Springs, NC and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Greensboro College. She married Harold Sauls and they had 55 wonderful years together. (He had won her heart when he showed up with five puppies in his four suit coat pockets.)Joyce taught seventh grade until the birth of her first child. She and her growing family moved to Fort Myers in 1957.Joyce and Harold hosted square dances three nights a week for nineteen years. Joyce was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames of the Seventeenth Century, and Royal Order of the Magna Charta Barons and Dames.Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Harold Sauls. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her daughter, Jennifer Lemmons, sons, Timothy, Michael (Lynn), and Toby (Sandi), sister, Portia Newman, brothers Wallace (Jean, deceased), Buford (Carolina), and Joseph (Nersa) Mitchell, grandchildren Portia, Shannon, Frank, Jr. and Casey Lemmons, and David Perch, and many nieces and nephews.A service celebrating her life will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Blvd. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
