So sad to hear Joyce is gone. I have never seen a more positive person in my life. Joyce and Jim were such good friends of my husband and I. We had such good times in N.C. My husband passed away in 2020.
Joyce was so sweet and supportive to me these last few years. I know she loved the Lord and is in a better place today with her beloved Jim. Goodbye Dear Joyce. Love

My family and I have had the pleasure of spending the last 8 summers with Joyce on “The Hill” in the NC mountains, which she referred to as her “happy place”. Her immaculate yard was testament of her deep love for the outdoors, her yard and flowers. She was so kind and giving, always wanting to help at a minutes notice. What is mine is yours she would say. I will forever think of her with a smile when the wild orchids pop up every April.
Joyce has been my friend since 1948 when we were in Junior High together and even before that in Girl Scouts. We raised our children over the years and finally reconnected at our schools 25th anniversary. When an opportunity came up she and Jim bought a piece of land adjoining ours in North Carolina and built their summer home. We loved our summers together and my favorite memory of Joyce is of her tending her flowers and singing hymns in her sweet, clear voice that we could hear from our house. In the evenings we sat out on our deck with a dessert and talked about how lucky we were and watched the evening descend in the valley below.
I met Joyce a few years ago at her mountain home in North Carolina. We shared the love of flowers and gardening. I enjoyed her stories about riding motorcycles with her boys and building homes. There wasn't much that she was afraid to do. Truly an amazing woman. Rest in peace my friend.

She was such a blessing to our family. She inspired me to become a nurse and to be as passionate as she was. We enjoyed several weekends with her in North Carolina sharing stories and old memories. She always had a smile on her face and welcomed us with Joe arms . Heaven has gained a beautiful angel. We were so great full to have her in our lives
