Joyce O. Weissbach's Obituary
Joyce O. Weissbach, 82, of Fort Myers, passed away September 12, 2012. She was born August 30, 1930 in Akron, Ohio. Joyce moved to Fort Myers from New Jersey in 1988. She was a member of The Democratic Women?ÇÖs Club and was a Governor appointed Ombudsman for mental health patients in South Florida. Joyce was also on the Board of Directors Pirates Play House in Sanibel, Florida and was the Director of outpatient clinic of the Center of Addictive Illnesses at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, New Jersey. Joyce loved to travel and attend the theatre. She enjoyed photography and she lived for her family. She attended Ohio State University and the University of Maryland where she earned a B.S. and M.S., respectively in audiology and speech. She worked at The Childrens Clinic at D.C. General Hospital in Washington and then at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, where she was a member of the Maitland Baldwin neurosurgical team. Left behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 54 years, Arthur. She is also survived by her loving son, Lyle Weissbach (Annette) of North Caldwell, New Jersey; daughter, Claudia Kelly (John) of Fort Myers, Florida and grandchildren, Bryan and Jennifer. A visitation will be conducted on Saturday, September 15, 2012 from 5PM-7PM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907. (239) 936-0555.
