Jubilee R Brainerd's Obituary
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Jubilee R. Brainerd, who was born on November 16, 1950, in Freetown, Sierra Leone, to loving parents Fatruba A. Lisk and Rosa Zizer. Jubilee departed this life on January 13, 2025, in Fort Myers, Florida.
Jubilee was the third-born daughter in her family, and she pursued her passion for knowledge by studying Library Science at Norfolk State University in Virginia. After moving from Maryland, she called Florida her home for the past 20 years.
Jubilee had a zest for life, enjoying reading, traveling, and most of all, cooking. Her culinary skills were renowned among her family and friends, and her dishes always brought warmth and joy to those around her.
She was predeceased by her sister Betty and her beloved husband, Theophilus Brainerd. She leaves behind her cherished daughter, Jasmine Brainerd, her siblings Franklyn Lisk, Laura Hassan, and Charles Massaquoi, as well as several nieces and nephews who will forever hold her memory close.
Jubilee's journey was marked by love, resilience, and a deep connection to her roots. Though she has left this world, her spirit will forever shine brightly in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten, as her legacy of love and kindness lives on.
Jubilee's family has entrusted Fort Myers Memorial Gardens with the tender care of her final arrangements. There will be a visitation at 10:15 on Monday, February 3, 2025 with her funeral service beginning at 11AM at Wesley United Methodist Church 4141 Deleon St Fort Myers, FL 33901.
