Julia Rose Kalisz June 20, 1924 ?Çô January 11, 2013Julia Rose Medvick Kalisz, 88, passed away Friday, January 11 at Hope Hospice House (Healthpark) in Fort Myers, Florida. Julia was retired from Kroger, a graduate of Morgantown High School (class of 1942), and a member of the National Honor Society. She was a devoted wife and mother. Julia was born in Morgantown, West Virginia and moved to Cleveland, Ohio following her marriage to Walter Kalisz; subsequently moving to Fort Myers, Florida following Walter?ÇÖs death in 1988. She was preceded in death by mother Mary Balog Medvick (March 17, 1938), father George Medvick (March 2, 1954), sister Mary Medvick (d.o.d. unknown), sister Anna Medvick Blissak (July, 1954), sister Helen Medvick Assif (February, 2006) and husband Walter Kalisz (May 23, 1988). Julia was a member of TOPS 434 in Fort Myers. During the past 3 years she resided at Barrington Terrace, where she enjoyed listening to music, reading large type books, completing difficult word puzzles and winning consistently at bingo. She also loved cooking and dancing. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Marie Kalisz of Fort Myers, Florida; son David Walter Kalisz and wife Elizabeth Bardossy of Rocky River, Ohio; niece Carol Ann Assif Guthrie; grandniece Kimberly Marie Guthrie Savage and husband Mark Savage, Jr.; great-grandnephew Parker Joseph Savage and great-grandniece Peyton Avery Savage; grandniece Jennifer Lynn Guthrie and great-grandniece Savannah Guthrie Harrison; nephew Jeffery Joseph Assif and wife Penny Jo Assif; grandniece Bayley Dawn Assif Perks and husband Drew Perks; grandnephew Case Andrew Perks; and great-grandnieces Samantha Cole Assif, Skyler Von Dean Assif, Conner Francesca Assif, and Layne Elizabeth Assif, all of Morgantown, West Virginia. The family invites friends and relatives to a memorial service on Sunday, January 20, 2013, 2:00 pm at Hope Hospice House (Healthpark), 9470 Healthpark Circle, Fort Myers, Florida 33908 (239-985-2492); reception to follow. Donations to Hope Hospice House (Healthpark) in memory of Julia Rose Kalisz are suggested in lieu of flowers [donation envelopes will be at the memorial].
