Julie Christine Lindsey's Obituary
Julie Christine Lindsey, 40, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 10, 2014. She was born August 31, 1973 in Jacksonville, Florida. She moved to Lee County with her family in 1977.She was a former cheerleader, basketball player, theater actress, tap dancer and singer at Cypress Lake High School. After graduation, Julie went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from the University of South Florida. She became a teacher’s aide for the Lee County School District and enjoyed her work with disadvantaged children. Julie was a member of First Assembly of God and very involved in bible studies and women’s ministries. She also volunteered for Hospice.Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Earl and Vivian Smith of Fort Myers; son, Tyler Jason Gnagey of Fort Myers; daughter, Angelina Kate Lindsey of Naples; brother, Jason Smith and his wife Marni of Swanee, Georgia; maternal grandmother, Rita McCullough of Orange Park, Florida; aunts and uncles, Wally and Nancy McCullough, Arlene Poston and Mike Smith all of Jacksonville, Florida; cousins, Mandy Hunter, Doug McCullough, Don Davis and Robert Poston, Jr.There will be a visitation on Wednesday, April 16th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd. Fort Myers, Florida 33907. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April17th at First Assembly of God, 4701 Summerlin Road, Fort Myers, Florida 33919 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Julie’s honor to the “Help For Hurting Women” ministry at First Assembly of God, 4701 Summerlin Road, Fort Myers, Florida 33919 or online at www.firstassemblyministries.com.
